This statement is the last made by Jesus from the cross before He died. It was only one word in the Greek. It was a cry of victory and not of defeat. He knew the connection between His death and the salvation of sinners. We will examine the wide encompassing meaning of these words in this lesson.

The ministry of benevolence is one of the three ministries of the church. Evangelism and edification are the other two. We will look at benevolence for individual Christians as well as the church’s role in providing love and support for those in need within the guidelines of Scripture.
To say something is edifying means, biblically, being strengthened in the Lord and strengthening others. In this message, we take a closer look at this means of God’s grace that takes us on to spiritual maturity.
The Ministry of the Church is to Glorify God, Build up the Church and Be Benevolent. We will focus today on the ministry of Edification. We will look at its meaning and its biblical methods to discover biblical avenues offered to each member of the Body of Christ, the Church.
When we think about getting involved in the ministries of our church we may need to be informed in the biblical limitations of those ministries. This lesson focuses upon the three areas of ministry: evangelism, edification and benevolence.
This lesson is a continuation of last week’s lesson with an emphasis on the work of the church and the leadership needed to see that evangelism, edification and benevolence are the focus of every member.
